In European folklore, hares are slippery, mystical figures. Their strong legs are capable of incredible bursts of speed, and myth assigns them the ability to transform into women, or perhaps to be actually a witch in disguise. Hares are said to be the guardians of the edges and boundaries that separate the human world from the unknown, mad creatures that celebrate their madness. There are 8 hand-sculpted faces in this series, which is meant to be a hare at a glance - a shifting, wary shape, on the lookout for whatever engages with their boundary. ~ Lauren
