STONES & STRING: Jasper Triad

The ongoing Stones & String series is made up of one-of-a-kind adornments that focus on the simplest and most primitive elements humans have used to amplify their beauty and power for millennia: ceramic, stone, and glass beads and hand-knotted linen cord. Each piece is a tone poem of textures, hues, clinking sounds, and movements, and no two are alike.

The largest repository of ancient beads we know of to date is located in Spain and dates back to appx. 2875 - 2635 BCE.  This quote from the researchers of that site caught my imagination: "Under the sun, the effect of these women with the attires glittering with reflected sunlight must have been quite powerful." I don't assign a gender to these pieces, but I hope you glitter with reflective sunlight regardless. ~Lauren

Made from: hand-knotted linen cord by Lauren, hand-sculpted & carved ceramic focal by Jessica; leopard jasper spheres, amethyst tiger-eye spacers, and a gold tone clasp. Necklace "chain" measures 21" around. This is a picture of the exact piece of jewelry you will receive!
